HARDWARE SUPPORT – CENTURION (SA Citizens only)

TrenStar SA (Pty) Ltd a leader in the field of rental returnable packaging has a vacancy for Hardware Support in its Command Centre.  This individual should be technically proficient and should have previous experience in IT Hardware Support.

Experience and minimum education/training:

Previous experience with handheld mobile scanners or mobile devices or PC’s etc

Support Desk or Helpdesk experience would be an advantage

Qualification – Technical qualification such as Comptia or A+ (Technical Support / PC Support)

MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word proficient (Level 1)

Must be able to work from 08:00 to 16:30 office hours and overtime / standby if required

Must have own vehicle to travel to and from customer and depot sites

Previous experience using Mobile Device Management s/w like SOTI

Responsibilities:

  1. Fulfilling Ad Hoc Helpdesk Requests or Calls Logged.  This includes phoning the requester and trying to log onto the scanner remotely, reloading the scanner, and organizing a return transfer to Head Office if a remote repair is not possible and preparing a swop out scanner for said site.  This is a Critical Function.
  2. Preparing Scanners for customers, projects, depots etc. The correct scanner settings and s/w must be loaded on the scanner and tested before sending it out.  This is a Critical Function.
  3. Provide remote software support to users via mobile device management s/w
  4. Monitoring the Transaction/Device Monitoring Dashboard.  This includes actions to be taken on all issues.  This is an Important Function.
  5. Monitoring and correcting incorrect Error transactions and doing fault finding to resolve issues
  6. Upgrading mobile device management agents, scanner application software as and when required
  7. Documenting new or updating existing User manuals or/ SOP documents
  8. Creating new scanner users and set-up of permissions
  9. Standby support for Customers and Depots scanner users during stock take weekends

Junior Mobile Applications Developer (Centurion) (SA Citizens only)
TrenStar SA (Pty) Ltd is looking for a qualified Mobile Applications Developer to join their Software Team. As a Mobile Applications Developer you will be responsible for collaborating with internal teams to develop functional mobile applications, whilst working in a fast-paced agile environment.

Minimum Education and Experience

• Grade 12, with a Diploma in IT/B.Sc. or equivalent
• Minimum of 2+ years of Android applications development
• Experience with Android Studio and SDK Tools
• Experience with publishing application to the Google Play store
• Solid understanding OOP design principles
• Proven work experience as a mobile developer
• Business knowledge of mobile applications development
• Working knowledge of the general mobile landscape, architectures, trends, and emerging technologies
• Java, SQLite, Web Services & RESTful APIs
• Good understanding of JSON and XML Familiar with development methodologies
• Must have worked in an AGILE environment
• Understanding of Android’s best practices for application development
• Understanding of available framework(s) for application development on Android

Responsibilities

• Support the entire application lifecycle
• Produce fully functional mobile applications writing clean code
• Write unit and UI tests to identify malfunctions
• Troubleshoot, debug and optimize performance
• Design interfaces to improve the user experience

Software Developer (Centurion) SA Citizens only

TrenStar SA (Pty) Ltd is seeking the services of a Software Developer.  The ideal candidate will mainly be responsible to work under team leads to deliver high quality of code and will work within a very dynamic development environment

Minimum Education and Experience

  • Grade 12
  • Diploma (minimum 3 years) or B.Sc. IT or equivalent
  • MSCD (Microsoft Certified Solution Developer): App Builder
    • Developing ASP.NET MVC Web Applications OR
    • Developing Microsoft Azure and Web Services
  • 5+ Years experience in Software Development
  • Knowledge of Object Oriented Programming
  • C#.Net 3.5+
  • Net, ASP.Net (Web Forms) / MVC 2.0+
  • Web Services (REST and/or SOAP experience)
  • .Net framework 3.5 and above or other data access frameworks
  • Microsoft Visual Studio
  • Source Control – TFS / Git
  • SQL Server 2008 or above (Excellent knowledge of Relational Databases)
  • Javascript, jQuery, AJAX, JSON, XML
  • Experience in working in an AGILE environment
  • Must have worked with Team Foundation Server or similar ticketing systems

  • Participate in planning and estimating of user stories at the beginning of each development iteration
