HARDWARE SUPPORT – CENTURION (SA Citizens only)

TrenStar SA (Pty) Ltd a leader in the field of rental returnable packaging has a vacancy for Hardware Support in its Command Centre.  This individual should be technically proficient and should have previous experience in IT Hardware Support.

Experience and minimum education/training:

Previous experience with handheld mobile scanners or mobile devices or PC’s etc

Support Desk or Helpdesk experience would be an advantage

Previous barcode printing experience would be an advantage

Qualification – Technical qualification such as Comptia or A+ (Technical Support / PC Support)

MS Outlook, MS Excel, MS Word proficient (Level 1)

Must be able to work from 08:00 to 16:30 office hours and overtime / standby if required

Must have own vehicle to travel to and from customer and depot sites

Responsibilities:

  1. Fulfilling Ad Hoc Helpdesk Requests or Calls Logged.  This includes phoning the requester and trying to log onto the scanner remotely, reloading the scanner, and organizing a return transfer to Head Office if a remote repair is not possible and preparing a swop out scanner for said site.  This is a Critical Function.
  2. Preparing Scanners for customers, projects, depots etc. The correct scanner settings and s/w must be loaded on the scanner and tested before sending it out.  This is a Critical Function.
  3. Monitoring the Transaction/Device Monitoring Dashboard.  This includes actions to be taken on all issues.  This is an Important Function.
  4. Printing of barcode and skid labels – Ensuring that consumable stock levels and printed skid label stock levels are kept and reported on. Ensuring high quality printed barcodes and delivered on Time.
  5. Documenting new or updating existing User manuals or/ SOP documents

DATA ANALYST – CENTURION (SA Citizens only)

TrenStar SA, a leader in the field of Rental Returnable Packaging has a vacancy for a Data Analyst.     The ideal incumbent will be someone with excellent analytical skills, someone with the ability to spot trends, interpret, analyse and evaluate data.

Experience and minimum education/training:

  • Matric and Bachelor’s degree in BCOM (statistics)
  • 2-3 years’ experience in data analysis, decision support, including demonstrated proficiency in analytical software
  • Must have completed coursework in statistics, data analysis, reach methodology
  • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Office – advanced level)
  • Must be willing to work overtime

Responsibilities will include (but not be limited to):

  • Development of programs and methodologies for analysing and presenting data
  • Collection, interpretation and evaluation of data in preparation for statistical and analytical reports
  • Development of integrated business analyses and projections for customer reporting purposes
  • Detailed analysis and trends based on fleet Item utilization
  • Configure, review and update item fleet threshold limits as well as following up on item threshold breaches
  • Keep track of the Top 30 customer monthly data trends and KPI’s
  • Define and implement new KPI reports based on customer requirements
  • Define data extract requirements and assist with writing SQL scripts
  • Develop and present ad-hoc/weekly reports
  • Analysis of New fleet additions
  • Assist in the development of statistical tools and excel models to help monitor TrenStar business requirements
  • Research and analyse data from the TrenStar systems portfolio of clients to identify opportunities to extend our activity and increase our revenue

Supervisor (Permanent Position based at PE Depot) SA citizens only

The main function of the job is to oversee the safe and efficient running of the facility, including staff supervision, asset management, product despatch and proper documentation, while upholding all TrenStar quality, environment, health and safety policies and procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage ageing throughout depot process in Receiving, Inspection, Wash bay and ATP.
Review and ensure the depot process flow is optimal and efficient at all times
Assist Depot Manager with QA processes throughout the depot operation to ensure clean well-maintained packaging is supplied to the client at all times
Ensure that Reports (Wash bay, Inspection) completed and submitted on Daily basis to Depot Manager
Manage Depot Team to ensure optimal compliance productivity and discipline
Ensure Safety Standards compliance as per Client and Company requirement
Drive TrenStar Quality Awareness and compliance at all times
Manage and maintain company assets to standard
Enforce full adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) at all times
Monitor and report on depot consumables and daily consumption of operational resources (chemicals, water, diesel, power, strapping, gloves etc.
Assume responsibility for housekeeping of the facility and enforces housekeeping standards

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Gr.12, (with RPL considered for lower educational levels)
5 Years relevant experience in asset management
Minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar leadership position in Operations
Computer Literacy in Microsoft Office (Intermediate Level)
Forklift License would be of an advantage
A driver’s license would be an advantage

Purchasing Officer (Permanent position based in Centurion) SA citizens only
TrenStar has a vacancy for a Purchasing Officer based at it’s Head Office in Centurion. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, the primary objective of this role is to oversee purchases and develop and maintain supplier contracts. This includes strategizing to find cost effective and high-quality supplies for the organisation. To investigate the best ways to reduce operational expenditure and cost, as well as negotiating and managing contracts to build key relationships with suppliers.

Activities include but are not limited to:

• Ensure basic product knowledge and stay up to date with changes in any products
• Ensure all orders placed are filled and ordered/collected quantities are correct
• Arrange the transport and relocation of containers and product between all Depots and between suppliers and Depots
• Maintain an updated list of inventory items
• Estimate and establish cost parameters and budgets for purchases

Main Function includes

• Pro-active management of depot as an operational entity including daily activities, as well as maintaining KPI parameters.
• Promote the professional service of the depot to customers.
• Prepare and maintain annual depot budgets.
• Report monthly on depot expenses, Key Performance Indicators, Staff and Service.
• Management, motivation, mentoring and team building of depot personnel.
• Responsible for depot security, OHS act requirements, cleanliness, and safety.
• Management of customer on-site depots where applicable.
• Ensures conformance to discipline, rules, regulations, systems, and procedures.
• Management and completion of attendance registers, timesheets, overtime and leave forms.
• Management of the company’s assets – Containers, operations equipment, office furniture, computers etc.
• Management of stock i.e. Stock locations/area, stock counts, availability, discrepancies and condition of the stock.
• Completion of internal depot audits as published depot procedure manual.

Minimum Skills/Experience and Knowledge
