Background

The PUTCO Roseville bus depot has vehicles that operate within the surrounding areas. Cleaning, fuelling and inspection are some of the tasks performed at the depot for every vehicle leaving and entering the depot.

PUTCO’s concern is that they do not have any control or management system in place to monitor vehicles entering the depot, being cleaned, refueled and inspected before leaving the depot again.

Solutions

TrenStar SA developed a PUTCO Management System where each bus is tracked with RFiD equipment and RFiD tags that are attached to the exterior roof of the bus. Each bus is recorded as it enters the depot, when it enters the fuel bay and when defects are recorded the bus is then booked into Maintenance.

This system allows the transport department to allocate a specific driver and shift to a bus that has been fuelled, is defect free and is available on the Ready line.

The PUTCO Vehicle Management System allows for efficient reporting on the assignment of shifts, shift departures, utilization of busses in the different areas within the depot and all exceptions relating to shift-assignment and departures.

Result

TrenStar has effectively tagged 615 PUTCO owned busses that are currently being tracked throughout their Roseville Depot. Future developments include the expansion to all depots and sleeping grounds.

Background

The process of controlling and tracking high value trading certificates for RMB is managed by RMB Administrators. The daily process consists of receiving, managing, releasing and reconciling of high value certificates. Currently, this process is done manually which is very time consuming and no history of movements exists, which causes errors and certificates can go missing.

Solution

TrenStar implemented a document management solution using RFiD and barcode technology. Each certificate is placed in a plastic sleeve and sealed with a tamper proof seal which has a unique TrenStar barcode and RFiD tag. The certificate information is captured on the system and linked to the corresponding RFiD tag. The RMB Administrators can capture certificate movements by means of barcode scanning and reconcile high value trading certificates daily by performing automated stock takes. Real-time information is now available to RMB so that the location of each certificate is known at all times.

Result

Through RFiD and barcode technology, TrenStar has successfully implemented a RFiD document management solution for RMB. The current certificates have been effectively reconciled in the specific locations. All documents un-accounted for and documents that were in incorrect locations, can be monitored and the information is displayed on the respective reports. Certificates that are removed from a location are scanned to the representative areas and if retrieved, can be scanned back into the original location. TrenStar provides RMB with real-time reports, that indicates where each of their certificates are and how long they have been aging in a specific area.

Facebook / RFiD APP

Concept Overview

Trenstar has developed an application integrating RFID technology and facebook to be used as a promotional solution bringing a range of social media interaction at social events.
The solution consists of a range of interactive media stations fitted with a applicable combination of screens, keyboards, touch screens, camera and RFID readers.
The delegates at the event will each receive a wristband containing an RFID tag with they will associate with their facebook account.
The wristband can then be swiped at any of the stations to take part in certain social interactions such as photos posted to facebook, liking certain products on facebook etc.
Every event will include a event photo, event description, and event photo/logo.
