Command Centre
Housing an ever-growing team of engineers, project managers, data analysis and a call centre under its roof, TrenStar’s Command Centre has the people that you want to talk to.
Designed to offer turnkey projects and fast response to possible emergency situations, TrenStar’s Command Centre manage and utilise its Container Management (CM) system to its full. To explain the value of the Command Centre, one can look at two of its clients.
South Africa's lifeblood
Many know of the stunning work that the South African National Blood Service (SANBS) do, but few know that the network of supply and delivery is managed by TrenStar’s Command Centre. Through its call centre and automated helpdesk-system, TrenStar log all requests for blood and release orders to contracted delivery companies. This basic description hides the complexity beneath, which entails the collection and testing of blood samples for matching, the rerouting and schedule management of delivery vehicles to enable the most efficient blood delivery route, the management of crisis blood requests and, thanks to TrenStar’s management systems, the possible return of unused blood.
Throughout this process, TrenStar monitors and manages the system, down to a very granular level, thanks to the 24/7/365 nature of the Command Centre.
Helping managers to manage
Modern automotive manufacturing is no child’s play and with Just in time (JIT) and just in sequence (JIS) systems in play it is understandable that a 30 minute delay in the delivery of parts can eventually cause a dent in the brand reputation of the manufacturer in the eyes of a still-waiting customer. This is the reason why manufacturers such as Toyota South Africa have opted for TrenStar’s management systems.
Using CM and the skilled work of analysts and engineers, TrenStar offers remote and on-site management of containers, as well as cross-docks in major centres and delivery bays at the factory in Durban, South Africa. The system includes CM-aids such as visual dashboards, proof of delivery systems, Advanced Shipping Notification (ASN) and Short Shipment Notification (SSN) to allow managers at SA’s largest automotive manufacturer to monitor and manage both its performance and that of its suppliers.
TrenStar’s Command Centre offers far more than is seen in these two examples, but it becomes clear that it is especially fit to turn normal data into decision-enabling intelligence, offer constant 24/7 control and monitoring and to manage or allow the management of actions based on pre-set business rules. All the reports it offers, as is explained under the section on TrenStar’s Container Management System TrenStarCM, is can further be scheduled and automated and is accessible on any device that can access the internet.
The TrenStar Command Centre is also the custodian of its Online Ordering system.
