Our client, a global leader in water, hygiene, energy technologies and services, for customers all over South Africa experienced an overwhelming amount of flow bins that went missing. Partnering with TrenStar, our client need a solution which provided 100% visibility of all their flow bins.The outcome of the project enabled the client to track the cycles of their flow bins, receive effective reporting on the location and ageing of their containers at various sites. After six months of implementation we achieved the following results:

A major South African public transporter has buses that operate around the year at various depots. Cleaning, fueling and inspection are some of the tasks performed at the depots for every vehicle leaving and entering the depot. The Bus Operator’s concern is that they do not have any control or management system in place to monitor vehicles entering the depot, being cleaned, refueled and inspected before leaving the depot. TrenStar developed a custom Vehicle Management System where each bus is tracked with RFID equipment and RFID tags that are attached to the exterior roof of the bus. Each bus is recorded as it enters the depot, when it enters the fuel bay and when defects are recorded the bus is booked into Maintenance. The Vehicle Management System allows for efficient reporting on the assignment of shifts, shift departures, utilisation of buses in the different areas within the depot and all exceptions relating to shift-assignment and departures.
The process of controlling and tracking high value trading certificates at our client, a major banking group, is managed by their Administrators. The daily process consists of receiving, managing, releasing and reconciling of high value certificates. Currently, this process is done manually which is very time-consuming and no history of movements exists, which causes errors and certificates can go missing. Through RFID and barcode technology, TrenStar successfully implemented an RFID Document Management Solution for the banking group. The current certificates are being effectively reconciled in their respective locations and all unaccounted for documents are monitored and reported on.
